On the end-of-webinar survey, several asked for ideas for increasing student independence in online learning. The pandemic through us into the remote learning environment but what many found is that the foundations of instruction are the same; it is the way we have students access information and show their learning that varies. So, we still strive to be "warm demanders" and to use model, give guided practice, and assign inpendent practice with support and feedback. One of the key practices teachers found for keeping students engaged has been short. low risk responses that allow the teacher to monitor student involvement and understanding. These show the student that some one is noticing which results in both stronger engagement and personal connections.
